Seattle Thunderbirds open training camp in Kent

Fans can get their first look at the Seattle Thunderbirds junior hockey team when training camp opens for the 2012-13 season on Thursday, Aug. 23 at Kent's ShoWare Center.
Team Blue and Team White will scrimmage at 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. All training camp scrimmages and games are open to the public for free. The two teams scrimmage at the same times again on Aug. 24.
Three teams will compete in scrimmages Aug. 25-26. Team Blue, Team White and Team Grey will each play two periods of the scrimmage that starts at 3 p.m. Aug. 25 and at 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Aug. 26.
Training camp will conclude on Monday, Aug. 27 with a full 60-minute three-period game at 5:30 p.m. The teams will be wearing T-Birds white and blue game jerseys, unlike scrimmages which will feature team practice jerseys.
Fans attending any of the scrimmages or the game should enter ShoWare Center from the east side of the building.
Seattle plays a six-game preseason schedule. The T-Birds are home for one preseason game when they play the Everett Silvertips at 7:35 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14
Tickets for the preseason home game go on sale Aug. 23.
The T-Birds open the regular season against the Portland Winterhawks at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at the ShoWare Center.
Single-game tickets for the regular season will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22. Tickets can be purchased online at www.seattlethunderbirds.com and at the ShoWare Center box office. The box office is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
