Auburn Mountainview grabs division title | Prep boys water polo

The third-ranked Auburn Mountainview boys water polo team snagged the East Division title on Thursday with an 18-6 win over district rival Auburn.

Daniel Kim, Owen Lempert and Jeriah Kieswether led the Lions with three goals apiece. Hunter Arnold, Garrett Neiss and Riley King added two goals each and Jonah Kathlean, Luke Lavine and Matt Lipinski each scored a goal.

For the Trojans, Levi Golan had three goals and Nathan Scholzen each had two goals. Jesse Unzen added a goal.

The Lions finished the regular season with a 13-1 record and begin play in the state tournament Nov. 7 at either Rogers or Lakes high schools. The tourney will culminate Nov. 9-10 at Curtis High School in University Place.

The No. 6 Auburn Riverside boys water polo team also will compete in the state tourney.
