Auburn Riverside's Ben Blanchard wins district diving title

Auburn Riverside senior Ben Blanchard captured the West Central District III 4A diving title on Saturday at the Curtis Aquatic Center in University Place.

Blanchard finished with 300.60 points, edging Kentridge's Brady Shutt (296.10) and Mount Rainier's Adam Gefkovicz (291.40).

Auburn Riverside finished 12th out of 17 teams with 70 points.

Gig Harbor was first with 294, with Kentridge in second (272.5) and Curtis third (267).

Blanchard competes at the state 4A meet Feb. 15-16 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
