Auburn senior standout Kevin Shelton will continue his football career with the Division I University of Idaho Vandals next season.

Shelton, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound defensive end, was a crucial part of Auburn's state championship run last season. Just a year removed from missing out on the playoffs, the Trojans made it to the state 4A semfinals, where they lost to Bellarmine Prep.

Shelton, the younger brother of University of Washington defensive lineman and Auburn graduate Danny Shelton, was the South Puget Sound League North 4A Defensive Lineman of the Year. He also was named to the All-SPSL North 4A second-team offense as a tight end.
