Auburn Mountainview's Dakota Weir finished fourth in the 285-pound division at the West Central District III regional wrestling meet at Bonney Lake High School on Saturday, earning a berth into Mat Classic XXV.

Weir went 2-2 at the regional meet, rebounding from a first-round pin against Shelton's Ben Wilson and fighting his way through the consolation bracket to wrestle for third place.

Weir, a junior, defeated his second-round opponent, Lincoln's Eric Pula, with a pin at 1 minute, 18 seconds, then pinned Lakes sophomore Kiyrie Simons at 4:19.

In the third-place match, Weir fell to Foss junior Patiole Pesefea, 4-2.

Auburn Mountainview 145-pound senior Nick Helms earned an alternate spot with a fifth-place finish at the regional. Helms went 2-2 and defeated North Thurston sophomore Michael Lafrenier with a pin at 3:30 in the fifth-place match.

Enumclaw defeated South Puget Sound League 3A rival Decatur, 233-212, for the team title. Auburn Mountainview finished with 23 team points.
