Auburn Mountainview girls basketball falls to Lakes in loser-out contest 47-21

Auburn Mountainview's district playoff run came to an end on Saturday with a 47-21 loss to Lakes in the West Central District III/Southwest District IV 3A girls basketball tournament.

The Lions (13-12) fell into an early hole, down 21-11 in the first half, and were unable to mount a comeback against the Lancers.

Sammantha DePiano had 6 points for the Lions, with Molly Cichosz adding 5.

Lakes (13-10) was led by Rodericka Ware, with a game-high 19, and Tyanna Barton, with 13 points.

The game was the last for Auburn Mountainview coach Chris Carr who is retiring from coaching after 19 years.
