Auburn's May, Buchanan take Special Olympics state golf titles
Auburn's Tyler May captured his third straight Special Olympics state championship with a 3-over 75 at the Walter E. Hall Golf Course in Everett on Saturday.
May's round included a chip-in birdie and two eagles.
In his first year of state play, Cole Buchanan won the 9-hole competition. Buchanan, 16, a sophomore-to-be at Auburn Mountainview High and a member of the Lions' team, shot a 56 in the tournament to take the gold medal.
