Auburn Riverside boys basketball coach suspended for the rest of the season

Auburn Riverside head boys basketball coach Jason Brown has been suspended for the rest of the 2013-14 season.

According to the Seattle Times, the South Puget Sound League Athletic Directors voted on Dec. 12 to suspend the Raven's second-year coach for violating Washington State Interscholastic Activities Association rules that govern how much time a player can play in a jamboree and for allowing players to compete without having put in the minimum number of practices.

Auburn School District Athletic Director Rob Swaim told the Times that Brown won't be performing any coaching duties or attending any Auburn Riverside boys and girls basketball games for the rest of the season.

Swaim also told the times that Brown had 'self-reported' the violations to the SPSL and that he, Brown, had taken full responsiblity for them. Before the full-season suspension, Brown had been serving a four-game suspension for out-of-season contact with a player.
