Auburn Mountainview beats Peninsula 50-33, remains undefeated in SPSL 3A | Prep girls basketball

The Auburn Mountainview girls remained undefeated in the South Puget Sound League 3A on Friday with a 50-33 home win against Peninsula.

The Lions (4-0 league, 11-3 overall) built on a 19-15 first half lead in the third quarter, scoring 16 points while holding the Seahawks (1-3, 4-9) to just seven points in the frame.

Samantha DePiano led the way with a game-high 22 points in the contest.

Briana Zaragoza-Jones had 8 points and Ellie Alfrey and Allison Hammer added 7 points apiece.

Peninsula was led by Shelly Lauderbaugh's 9 points.

The Lions host Decatur (0-2, 0-5) at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

ALSO: Auburn (0-12, 1-13) fell to Kentlake (5-6, 7-8) 53-23 in SPSL North 4A play on Saturday. Latrice Johnson had 6 points in the contest for the Trojans. Morticia McCall had a game-high 18 points for the Falcons. Auburn will travel to Kentridge (7-4, 9-6) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
