Emerald Ridge beats Auburn Riverside 87-80 in loser-out contest | Prep boys basketball

The Auburn Riverside boys basketball team ended its season on Tuesday with a 87-80 triple overtime loss to Emerald Ridge in a South Puget Sound League 4A tournament, loser-out contest at Rogers High School in Puyallup.

After falling behind 21-14 in the first half the Ravens (11-10) battled back to tie it up 55-55 at the end of regulation.

Both Auburn Riverside and the Jags (11-10) scored 12 points apiece in the first overtime quarter, then matched at eight points each in the second OT period.

In the third overtime, Emerald Ridge pulled away, scoring 12 points to the Ravens' 5, putting the game away 87-80.

Senior Derek Brown led the Ravens with 23 points in the contest with Mitch Wetmore chipping in with 20. Drew Wallen and Derek White had 12 points each.

The Jaguars were led by Marcus Brown's game-high 36.
