Auburn Mountainview pounds Fort Vancouver 42-27 in district contest | Prep boys basketball

The Auburn Mountainview boys team earned another game in the West Central District III/Southwest District 4 tournament on Monday witih a 42-27 win against Fort Vancouver at Rogers High School in Puyallup.

The Lions (11-12) held the Trappers (10-13) to just 11 first-half points, leading at the intermission 19-11.

Chase Sahlin led Auburn Mountainview with 10 points in the contest, with Ryan Lacey adding eight points and Wyatt Walstad and Ki'Jan Weisinger chipping in with seven points each.

Tristan Miguel and Robbie Wilson had four points apiece.

Will Doty had a game-high 12 points for Fort Vancouver.

The win earns the Lions a second-round district game against powerhouse Wilson (19-2), at 7:45 p.m.at Rogers.

A win against Wilson guarantees Auburn Mountainview a berth in the Washington State 3A regionals, which begin Feb. 28 at various sites.
