Auburn Mountainview falls 52-34 to Lincoln, plays in district consolation semifinals Friday | Prep girls basketball

The Auburn Mountainvew girls basketball team lost 52-34 to Lincoln Wednesday night in West Central District III/Southwest District 4 3A district action at Washington High School.

The loss relegates the Lions (18-5) to the district consolation bracket and a semifinal, loser-out game against South Puget Sound League 3A rival Lakes (9-14), at 8 p.m. Friday at Franklin Pierce High School.

The two teams spit regular season contests this year, with Auburn Mountainview beating the Lancers 59-52 on Jan. 14 and Lakes topping the Lions 51-33 on Jan. 31.

A win advances Auburn Mountainview to a loser-out battle for the No. 5 seed into the Washington State 3A Girls Basketball regional tournament, against either Bonney Lake or Columbia River, at 4:15 p.m. Saturday at Clover Park High School.
