Lions' DePiano named SPSL 3A Coach of the Year | Prep girls basketball

Auburn Mountainview's Dustin DePiano has been named the South Puget Sound League 3A Coach of the Year.

In his first season with the girls basketball program, DePiano led the Lions to the SPSL 3A title with a 9-1 record, 20-6 overall, and guided them to regionals.

In addition, seniors Samantha DePiano and Allison Hammer earned first-team All-SPSL honors.

Seniors Kaitlyn Jensen and Maddie Taylor were named to the second team and sophomores Brianna Zaragoza-Jones and Elli Alfrey were chosen as honorable mentions.

Lakes' Olivia Crawford was named league Most Valuable Player, and Decatur won the Sportsmanship award.
