Unbeaten and confident, the Auburn Mountainview High School water polo team is going back to state for the second time in three years.

The Lions will look to remain perfect in the water when they take on rival Auburn at 7:30 tonight in the district pool. Mountainview, at 6-0 on the season, leads the South Puget Sound League West Division.

The state meet is May 13, 15-16 at Puyallup's Rogers High School.

The Lions have been fueled by senior scorers Stephanie Bluhm and Corey Smith. Junior Tess Rumbugh has been solid in goal for the Lions.

"They're rock stars," coach Danette Schreib said of her team. "They're scrappy but they happen to be a pretty good team."

With the exception of two close games against Enumclaw, the Lions have run away from opponents this season.
