Auburn junior defensive lineman Danny Shelton was nominated today for the 2011 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, to be played Jan. 8, 2011 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Shelton is among 400 nominees nationwide, including five from Washington state. Of those, 90 will be chosen to actually play in the annual East vs. West matchup, which features the nation's top high school football players.

The game will be televised on NBC.

Also chosen from Washington were: defensive lineman Taniela Tupou from Archbishop Murphy; tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins from Gig Harbor; wide receiver Kasen Williams from Skyline; and running back Bishop Sankey from Gonzaga Prep.

The selection process for roster spots will begin in September and continue through December.
