Auburn Mountainview water polo standout picks Cal Baptist

Auburn Mountainview senior standout water polo player Amelia Portin has accepted an offer to play at Cal Baptist University next season.

Portin, a 5-foot-7 center, signed her letter of intent this week during the early signing period.

Portin, one of the state’s top junior-level players, is a member of the Olympic Development Program’s Northwest Zone team, and a USA Water Polo Academic All-American.

Cal Baptist, a top 25 water polo program, is moving from NCAA Division II to Division I next year.

The private, Christian, liberal arts university is in Riverside, Calif.
