Auburn Riverside swims to All-City victory

Jaylyn Wong captured two individual events and anchored a pair of winning relay teams as Auburn Riverside claimed the All-City swimming and diving meet at the Auburn School District Pool on Thursday.

The Ravens scored 278 points, followed by Auburn Mountainview (229) and Auburn (114).

Wong took the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races in 27.09 and 59.45 seconds, respectively, with Auburn Mountainview’s Natalie Williams taking second with times of 27.18 and 1:02:18.

Wong teamed with Kyra Brandt, Jennifer Bell and Chloe Edwards to take the 200 medley relay (2:09.24). Brandt and Wong joined Emily Crosslin and Audrey Wood to win the 200 freestyle relay (1:55.44).

Wood anchored the Ravens’ winning 400 freestyle relay team (4:24.71) that included Edwards, Crosslin and Peyton Coleman.

Brandt added a win in the 100 butterfly (1:11.33).

For Auburn Mountainview, Sophie Ramey doubled, claiming the 200 freestyle (2:32.17) and 500 freestyle (6:41.35). The Lions’ Mairead Quigley topped the field in the 200 individual medley (2:31.25).

Williams anchored the 200 and 400 freestyle foursomes to second-place finishes.

Auburn’s day was highlighted by wins from Camryn Tongue (1-meter diving, 182.05), Jayden Henry (100 backstroke, 1:07.08) and Madison Eastman (100 breaststroke, 1:23.28).
