Rob Sumner Hockey Camp brings out Seattle Thunderbirds players to help coach kids: Register now

The 2010 Rob Sumner Hockey Camp will take place Aug. 16-22 at ShoWare Center in Kent.

Participants will utilize the T-Birds locker room and Western Hockey League dressing rooms throughout camp, as well as the Thunderbirds Training Facility for all dry land instruction.

The camp, named for the T-Birds' head coach, will consist of five groups. There are three youth groups: Group A for kids ages 6-8; Group B for players 9-10 years; and Group C for players 11-12 years of age. The youth groups take place mornings and afternoons, Monday-Friday.

An adult group will take place in the evenings Monday-Friday at ShoWare.

New this year, Sumner has added a Junior/Midget Prep group, which will be geared toward 15- to 18-year-old players preparing for their upcoming midget or junior season. This group practices Monday through Sunday at ShoWare Center. This camp will be difficult and challenging and will focus on conditioning and pace.

This year's staff will be working with all groups, both on and off the ice. Each player will have the chance to work with various Thunderbird players, coaches and training staff getting instruction on the ice, skill development off the ice and learning hockey-specific, dry-land training.

This is the second consecutive year the Rob Sumner Hockey Camp has taken place at ShoWare Center.

To attend the Rob Sumner Hockey Camp go to the T-Birds Web site to download the registration form. Fill it out and return it to the T-Birds office at the ShoWare Center.

T-Birds season tickets are currently on sale. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the T-Birds office at 253-239-7825.
