2008-09: In Calvin’s rookie season in goal for Thunderbirds, he played a total of 2,694 minutes in 47 games. He finished with a record of 23-16-1-4 and three shutouts. He had a personal best 36 saves on December 13, 2008 vs. Spokane, and once again vs. Kelowna on January 31 2009. Calvin ended the regular season with a goals against average of 3.05 and a save percentage of .896. During the playoffs Calvin played in all five games, posting a 1-4 record with a .915 save percentage and a 3.03 goals against average.
