Auburn Mountainview delivers first win for new coach; Auburn stays unbeaten

Adriana Lomeli-Smith launched a grand slam home run, doubled and drove in four runs Tuesday as Auburn Mountainview rallied for a wild 23-22 North Puget Sound League Olympic Division softball victory over Decatur.

The Lions rallied for six runs in the sixth inning to pull out the win, the first for new coach Kristin Herren.

Alashae Bell also homered, doubled and drove in four runs for Auburn Mountainview (1-1 league, 1-4 overall).

Emma Podliska had four hits and drove in five runs for the Lions. Perla Duran had five hits, including a pair of doubles, and three RBIs.

Angie Thompson and Azaria Johnson drilled triples and joined Jordyn Shockman in produced three RBIs.

Elsewhere

Auburn 5, at Federal Way 3: The Trojans remained undefeated and atop the NPSL Olympic pack with a win over the Eagles in eight innings.

Hailey Browne drew a walk, scoring the go-ahead run in the eighth. Emma Oehler’s bunt single scored the other run in the inning for the Trojans (2-0, 5-0).

Charity Sevaaetasi blasted a two-run homer in the first inning and finished with three RBIs to lead Auburn.

Kiana Adams surrendered three runs on six hits over eight innings, striking out 10 to get the victory.

Auburn Riverside 1, at Enumclaw 0: The Ravens (1-1, 4-1) scored an early run and it held up in a road win over the Hornets (1-1, 3-2) on Tuesday.
