Raven, Lion cross country runners qualify for state meet

Auburn Riverside’s Marcus Sutrick finished 18th and teammate Dustin Williams was 24th at the 4A West Central District championships at Chambers Bay on Saturday.

Sutrick, a junior, finished the 5,000-meter course in 16:32.6 seconds, and Williams followed in 16:43.9. Both will compete at the state championship in Pasco this Saturday.

Auburn Mountainview’s Nick Wolfe (31st, 16:52), Carson Porter-Keese (43rd, 17:00.8) and Austin Cays (49th, 17:10) also will race in Pasco.

In the girls race, Auburn Mountainview’s Samantha Goedde finished 30th (20:10.6) to qualify for a return trip to state.
