Ravens roll to win; Trojans tumble to Gators

Forward breaks the 1,000-yard rushing barrier, scores three touchdowns

Javon Forward ran for 184 yards – cracking the 1,000-yard barrier for the season – and scored three touchdowns as Auburn Riverside demolished Hazen of Renton 62-0 in a North Puget Sound League Valley Division game Friday night at Auburn Memorial Stadium.

Auburn Riverside (3-1 division, 7-1 overall), the Valley’s No. 2 team riding a four-game winning streak, plays at Todd Beamer (4-4, Mountain No. 6) this Friday for the NPSL’s No. 7 team to the Nov. 8-9 district playoffs. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Federal Way Memorial Stadium.

Hazen (1-3, 2-6, Valley No. 4) takes on Auburn Mountainview (3-5, Mountain No. 4) for the NPSL No. 5 to the district playoffs.

Forward, a senior running back, scored on runs of 13, 16 and 19 yards to reach 1,041 yards, with 15 rushing TDs, on the season.

Arthur Tauiliili returned a punt 26 yards for a touchdown and added a 3-yard run for the Ravens.

Payton Accetturo threw a 10-yard TD pass to Jace Villars.

Lucas James and Ladaquir Jones scored on short-yardage runs, and Rayma Kaio returned a fumble 40 yards for another TD.

Elsewhere

Decatur 48, at Auburn 22: The Gators (3-1, 5-3) put away the Trojans (1-3, 2-6) in an NPSL Sound Division game Thursday. The loss snapped Auburn’s two-game winning streak.

Keegan Yu passed for 202 yards, finding Connor Howat on a 96-yard scoring play for Auburn. Howard caught four passes for 128 yards and from his spot in the secondary made eight tackles.

Auburn travels to Federal Way to play Thomas Jefferson (2-2, 3-5) in a season-ending game at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
