Venetia Valentine Wood, 66, died suddenly August 13, 2008 at her home in Auburn, Washington, of cardiac arrest. Venetia had suf-fered ill health for several years, but had borne it resolutely and with strength of character. She was a kind and loyal friend and a proud and loving mother.She was born in Ketchikan, AK on January 26, 1942 to Jake and Evelyn Valentine and was a graduate of Ketchikan High School and of the University of Oregon Nursing Program.Venetia is survived by her three children: Brian Wood, Corvallis, OR; John Wood, Redding CA; and Kelley Woodrich, Kennewick, WA. She is also survived by four grandchil-dren: Phoenix and Kennedy Woodrich, Eric Sean Wood, and Paige Wood. Also surviving are her mother, Evelyn Valentine, Seattle, WA. and her brother John Valentine of Edmonds, WA. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Peter and her father, Jake Valentine.The family expresses appreciation to Venetia’s friends at the Kona Kai Apartments – and especially to Michelle York – for their warm and loyal friendship over Venetia’s many-year residence in Auburn.Venetia’s remains were cremated and will be scattered in the ocean along the Washington coast.
