Sorry for my absence

For several reasons, I did not appear in the Good Ol’ Days Parade.

I certainly applaud Bob and Claudette Kearney for taking time to address the lack of participation by some city officials in a community event.

I’m sorry I did not see the importance of this particular type of public appearance and apologize for my lack of consideration for the people I serve.

Will the Good Ol’ Days festival have a future? Maybe not. Our economic climate may eliminate the amount and size of sponsorships necessary to support it.

For that reason, I am grateful to the volunteers who have given it such a long ride.
