And it is not even winter yet

As was predicted a few months ago, this winter should be nasty.
Windstorms, snow and ice, Pineapple Express storms, all of the extreme-type weather events have a tendency to occur during La Niña-type weather patterns.
With a week left until the start of winter, we already have seen four weather events (two windstorms with 50-plus-mph winds, snow and cold weather and a Pineapple Express).
If you have not already done so, today is a good day to get prepared.
This winter it is all but certain that we will see a continuation of the weather we have seen over this past 30 days. There will be power failures; there will be trees that come down; there will be times you may have to live without power. Do you have flashlights and other supplies to keep warm, dry and safe in your home?
The City of Pacific and the Valley Regional Fire Authority will do everything in our power to respond as quickly as possible. However, it is up to you to be prepared for winter.
Please visit www.govlink.org/storm/ and look what you can do to be prepared.
If you have any questions, send me an e-mail or stop by my office.
As a city, we are prepared; as a community it will take your help as well.
