Marie (Bitney) Gruett
Marie (Bitney) Gruett. passed away April 13, 2014 at the age of 92. Marie was born in Everett, WA. May 13, 1921. She was the last survivor of her 6 brothers and sisters. They moved to Aberdeen and eventually settled in Auburn.
Mom married Robert B. Wooding and had 4 children. Bob, Bill, Dick and Judy. When Mom’s marriage ended with our father she eventually married Bruce Gruett and in 1955 moved to Anacortes. Later they resided in Seattle, Edmonds and Olympia and retired in Anacortes. Marie and Bruce celebrated nearly 59 years of total devotion to each other. She was out going, loved to entertain, dance, cook, fish and travel in their trailer but her real passion was sewing and quilting. It gave Mom great pleasure in gifting these treasures to her family and others.
Marie has 12 grand, 20 great-grand and 3 great-great-grandchildren
There will be a Memorial service celebrating Mom’s life Tuesday, May 20th 11 – 2 pm at the Seafarers Memorial Park Building, 601 Seafarers Way, Anacortes, WA.
