Thanks for the memories, Peckenpaughs

Traveling east on Main Street, the sight of the Peckenpaugh Drug store going out of business is sad to me.
The loss of the store reminded me of the many times when I as a young boy living on 14th Street Southeast. With a quarter in my pocket, I would jump on my bike and ride up A Street to the original Peckenpaughs.
For me, Pecks was an exciting place. It had a soda fountain. Those gooseneck contraptions, when the handle was pulled, would belch carbonated soda. With a scoop of Fulmer ice cream you would be enjoying a Green River float.
Thanks for the memories, Pecks.
