After qualifying for nationals at the state competition in April, seven Auburn Riverside students attended the National Technology Student Association conference in Washington D.C., June 26-July 2.

The Auburn Riverside team brought home the Chapter Excellence Award, which recognizes academic achievement, leadership, competition involvement, fundraising and state involvement.

Bill Sumner, Auburn Riverside teacher and TSA advisor, was awarded the Chapter Advisor of the Year for his personal commitment to further the growth of TSA and his encouragement of exploring careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

Students competed in team and individual events in areas such as communication, engineering, environmental systems and manufacturing/construction.
