The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 211 calls service between Nov. 3 and Nov. 9, among them the following:

Nov. 3

Smoke detector activation: 5:08 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters responding to a report of a homeowner’s neighbor hearing a smoke detector sounding off and smelling smoke, discovered that the homeowner had left a pot burning on the stove. Firefighters removed the burned pan and ventilated the house. The homeowner arrived home and was very thankful that the neighbor had called 911.

Nov. 4

Motor vehicle accident: 4:40 p.m., (south Auburn). Firefighters responding to a two-car accident on Highway 18 and finding two people involved treated a man for minor shoulder injuries and transported him to a local hospital in stable condition.

Nov. 5

Aid call: 3 p.m., (Lea Hill). After firefighters evaluated a woman who had fallen and injured her wrist, a private vehicle transported her to a local hospital.

Nov. 6

Car pedestrian: 4:30 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters responding to a car pedestrian accident in the parking lot of a local apartment complex evaluated a child whose foot had been run over by a vehicle. VRFA personnel drove the boy to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC) for further treatment.

Nov. 8

Dumpster fire: 1:16 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a report of a smoldering Dumpster fire behind the Oddfellas Pub on West Main Street and extinguished it. There was no significant damage.

Nov. 9

Aid call: 10:30 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters treated an elderly woman who was experiencing stroke symptoms and drove her to MAMC.
