Inga R. Nielsen

Inga R. Nielsen, formerly of Enumclaw, Washington, born January 1, 1922 in Tioga, North Dakota, passed away in her home in Auburn on December 31, 2014, one day before her 93rd birthday. She was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Syver Roland, of Enumclaw, Washington.

Inga Nielsen graduated from Enumclaw High School with the class of 1940. She worked for Olympic Steel in Seattle for 14 years, before going into business with her husband, Cecil Nielsen, at the Nielsen Pickle Company in Kent, WA. The couple also owned Adams Foods, Inc. in Tacoma, WA, where they manufactured Adams Peanut Butter. They sold the company, and retired in 1980 to spend time traveling and playing with their grandchildren.

Inga is survived by her daughters, Sally Sternard (Mark Sternard) and Ann Thompson (Jeff Thompson), both of Auburn; and by her grandchildren, Andy Sternard (Tammy Lynn) of Seattle, WA; Alex Thieman (Ingrid) of Anacortes, WA; Joey Sternard (Erica) of Puyallup, WA; and Alyson Horton (Tony) of Renton, WA. She is also survived by her two great grandchildren, Elsa Sternard and Ari Thieman.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 25105 132nd Avenue S.E., Kent, WA 98042. Remembrances may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Timothy Ministries, or Virginia Mason Hospital.
