ASO concludes chamber series with No Passport Required

Auburn Symphony Orchestra concludes its 2014-15 chamber series at St. Matthew Episcopal Church with musicians of the Puget Sound Wind Quintet on Sunday, March 29.

The concert, No Passport Required, begins at 4 p.m. at the church, 123 L St. NE.

The quintet is composed of Karla Flygare (flute), Dan Williams (oboe), Jennifer Nelson (clarinet), Francine Peterson (bassoon) and Rodger Burnett (French horn). All players are faculty at University of Puget Sound.

The musical journey includes several far-flung locations – Italy (Giuseppe Cambini), Denmark (Carl Nielsen), France (Jacques Ibert), Argentina (Astor Piazzolla) and Egypt (Gamal Abdel-Rahim).

The concert is sponsored in part by the City of Auburn and the Garneau-Nicon Foundation.

Founded in 1996, the fully-professional nonprofit orchestra is led by Stewart Kershaw, internationally-renowned conductor and former music director of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra.

Festival seating is $17 for adults, $10 for students.
