Alternative Pop band Echosmith will bring its unmistakable croon and vibrant writing style to Green River College for the annual spring concert on Friday, May 29.
Echosmith will be joined by Kent native and rising soulful songstress Tess Henley and her brother, Carson Henley, and special guest Javier Dunn.
The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Lindbloom Student Center on Green River’s main campus in Auburn.
Tickets for the public are $20 online at www.greenriver.edu/campus-life or $25 at the door. Green River students can purchase tickets for $10 online or $15 at the door.
The California-born sibling group is known for their hit song “Cool Kids,” which has gone two times platinum. They have been nominated for the breakthrough band for the 2015 Alternative Press Magazine Awards. Also they have been nominated for the Kids Choice Awards and the Radio Disney awards.
Tess Henley, meanwhile, is a rising soulful songstress.
The Kentlake and University of Washington graduate captured the Guitar Center’s Singer-Songwriter Artist Discovery Program, catapulting her career.
Her latest EP, “Wonderland,” recorded at Hollywood’s Henson Studios, brings out the best in Tess’ jazzy soulful voice, which is similar in style to Norah Jones or Sara Barielles.
Henley’s music has attracted a growing audience – made larger after her national television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Jan. 22. She performed two tracks – “Positively Me” and “Wonderland” – on ABC’s late-night show.
Henley, the younger sister of musician Carson Henley, has been busy on tour this year.
