The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 208 calls for service between June 15 and 21, among them the following:

June 15

Smoke investigation: 6 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters responding to smoke in the area of 303rd and 121st Avenue Southeast found a homeowner who had been burning treated wood in his recreation fire pit. As the man’s fire did not meet the requirements for recreational burning, firefighters first directed him to snuff out the fire and then schooled him on what he could burn in his pit in the future.

June 16

Brush fire: 5 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters dispatched to the Pacific City Park to deal with a small brush fire behind the baseball field found a small, 10-by-10-foot grass fire, which they extinguished before it could spread to nearby trees.

June 17

Aid call: 7:03 a.m., (Algona). King County Medics and firefighters treated an Auburn senior who was struggling to breathe, and medics transported her to a local hospital for more evaluation and treatment.

June 18

Aid call: 10:51 a.m., (Auburn). At first firefighters dispatched to help an elderly woman who had fallen could not get into her home, which was locked, so they climbed in through a window. After firefighters assessed the woman, a private ambulance hustled her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC) for observation.

June 19

Accident: 6:52 p.m., (South Auburn). Firefighters responding to a two-car accident discovered that one of the cars had struck a light pole and a tree. A private ambulance took one man to MAMC. Nobody else was hurt.

June 21

Aid call: 3:30 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters evaluated an Auburn senior who was confused after not being on her oxygen and arranged for a private ambulance to get her to MAMC.

Sick man: 7:15 a.m.. (Pacific). Firefighters treated a man with flu-like symptoms, and a private ambulance carried him to Valley Medical Center.
