Soundbites – a lively, eclectic music series series – begins at noon Thursday with the music of contemporary jazz musician Darren Motamedy.

Performances are noon to 1 p.m. Thursdays in the City Hall Plaza, 25 West Main St.

It is free to the public.’

The five-week series will feature a lively and eclectic musical mix.

The lineup:

• Thursday, July 16 – Darren Motamedy (soulful and smooth jazz saxophonist)

• Thursday, July 23 – Off the Hook (old school funk, R&B and classic soul)

• Thursday, July 30 – Michael Powers (guitarist extraordinaire)

• Thursday, Aug. 6 – Jealous Dogs (Pretenders tribute band)

• Thursday, Aug. 13 – Wally and the Beavs (’50s and ’60s rock & roll)
