The #Averystrong 5K benefit run and walk at Roegner Park last Saturday raised money for Avery Huffman, who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
Proceeds will help the Huffman family cover medical costs for Avery, who has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.
The community has rallied in support of the 6-year-old girl, a student at Lakeland Hills Elementary School. Her story has gone international, touching even celebrities, who have passed on supportive messages to Huffman.
