Farmers market serves up September events

The Auburn International Farmers Market winds down its season with special September programming.

September Sundays offer:

• Sept. 6: Seahawks Day (wear your gear to win a prize). Live music from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Sept. 13: Marianne Binetti gardening presentation, noon to 2:30 p.m.

• Sept. 20: Healthy Kids Back to School Day, featuring Casper Babypants from 11 a.m. to noon; Kids Yoga & ArtRageous Art Zone hands-on activity; solid waste and recycling worm bin presentation; free kitchen aprons to the first 250 kids who make a market purchase.

• Sept. 27: Final market day.

The market, in the Sound Transit Plaza at 23 A St. SW, is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The market offers a variety of locally-grown farm-based foods, hand-crafted items, free community performances and several educational sessions on health, nutrition, canning and gardening.

The King Conservation District supports the market.
