Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between Sept. 25 and Oct. 5:
Sept. 25
Malicious mischief: 11:46 p.m., 814 Auburn Way S. An undisclosed act of mischief, done maliciously, police say, transpired.
Sept. 26
Weapons offense: 2:15 p.m. 30000 block of 124th Avenue Southeast. Police arrested a woman for illegally possessing a firearm, illegal discharge of same, and reckless endangerment.
Trespassing: 11 a.m., 1102 Auburn Way S. For whatever wrongdoing the man had done, the Auburn Library gave him the old “don’t show yourself ’round here anymore.”
Sept. 30
Theft: 4:15 p.m., 4910 A St. SE. Having smashed a window out of a car in a parking lot, a pair of suspects swiped two cellphones.
Oct. 2
Commercial burglary: Overnight, 510 A St. NE. An office’s back door was open when employees arrived at work in the morning.
Controlled substance: 8:25 a.m., 501 Oravetz Road. Authorities caught a kid at a local school with a small amount of mary jane.
Theft: 3:15 p.m., 2200 block of D Street Southeast. While she was working, somebody stole a City of Auburn employee’s handbag from a City truck.
Vandalism: 11:45 p.m., 200 block of A Street Southeast. Police arrested somebody for vandalizing an Auburn Police vehicle.
Oct. 5
Trespassing: 1:45 p.m., 1101 Outlet Collection Way SW. A girl tried to shoplift something from a store in The Outlet Collection mall, ran from police and was quickly caught, carrying a shopping bag lined with foil to defeat security sensors. The store got its stuff back but declined to press charges. Police released the girl and trespassed her from the mall.
