Local cast to soar in ‘Mary Poppins’

Heavier Than Air Family Theatre Co. presents the jolly holiday adventure, “Mary Poppins”, at the Green River College Performing Arts Building, 12401 SE 320th St., Auburn.
Performances are 7 p.m. Dec. 11, 12, 13, 18 and 19, with 3 o’clock matinees on Dec. 12, 13, 19.
For the first time in the community theatre’s 40-year history, cast members will literally soar to new heights in this high flying musical.
A brother and sister who seek their father’s approval, a fun loving jack-of-all-trades, and a practically perfect nanny rise to the occasion with the help of a little stage magic.
The work is intense behind the scenes as well as under the spotlight, creating special effects that showcase the Disney classic. More than 70 local actors and stage hands have rehearsed for months to deliver a memorable audience experience.
Based on the books of P.L. Travers and the Walt Disney film, the Tony-nominated Broadway play offers an irresistible story, breathtaking dance numbers, unforgettable songs and astonishing stagecraft.
