Local theater company serves community

With a shared interest in nurturing school performing arts programs, members of Heavier Than Air Family Theatre Co. joined forces with Lake Youngs Elementary School in Kent to coach and motivate students in their fledgling drama club.

Heavier Than Air has provided assistance to local schools in the past, encouraging beginning actors to explore the teamwork required on stage, as well as the sense of accomplishment that comes with seeing a project grow from a simple vision to a live performance.

When approached by PTA members about partnering on the Lake Youngs inaugural production, the community theatre company enthusiastically agreed. The drama club’s musical theatre debut of “The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf” was a huge success.

According to Heavier Than Air staff, working with the school was a delightful experience and they thoroughly enjoyed helping students, faculty and parents launch a program that’s near and dear to their hearts.
