The American Cancer Society’s Auburn Relay for Life fundraiser returned to Auburn Memorial Stadium this weekend.

As of Tuesday, 39 teams and 393 participants had raised $82,611.14.

The opening ceremony began Friday evening with the posting of the colors followed by the singing of the national anthem and the survivors and caregivers’ laps.

The relay included a luminaria ceremony. The relay was scheduled to end Saturday morning.

Nationally, the overnight event brings together more than 3.5 million people, raising more than $400 million.
