Lions’ late-season surge continues | 3A fastpitch

Auburn Mountainview’s Laurel Tauzer, above, went 1 for 3 and scored a run during the Lions’ 7-2 nonleague win Monday against Seattle Christian. Zoe Collins and Lily Hope each produced three hits to lead Auburn Mountainview.

On Tuesday, Collins produced two of the Lions’ five hits as Auburn Mountainview closed out its regular season with a 3-1 win against Thomas Jefferson. The Lions (14-4) advance to the Class 3A West Central/Southwest bi-district tournament, where they open at 10 a.m. Friday against Wilson.
