The City of Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation hosts a new family-oriented fun run – the 5K Summer Stride – in conjunction with AugustFest on Friday, Aug. 12.

Auburn Sports Physical Therapy-sponsored race starts at 7 p.m. at Les Gove Park, 910 9th St. SE.

The out-and-back route is flat, easy and suitable for all ages. The race is “chip-timed” by BuDu Racing. Water will be available on the course. Participants must run/walk and complete the course in its entirety to be eligible for awards. The route will close after 90 minutes.

Entry fee is $25 through Aug. 9, and $30 in the day of the race. On-site registration begins at 5:30 p.m.

Early registration includes a dri-fit shirt. No registrations is accepted Aug. 10 and 11. Only one individual per registration form. Payment must accompany registration. T-shirts are not guaranteed for day-of registrants.
