Valley Regional Fire Authority firefighters responded and extinguished a house fire in the 100 block of 15th Street Southeast in Auburn on Friday afternoon.

Three residents in the home reported that the fire started in a bedroom. They attempted to extinguish the fire before firefighters arrived.

All three suffered smoke inhalation, and one resident was transported by private ambulance to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.

The fire, first reported after 2:30 p.m., remains under investigation.
