Ross Sherrer scored in overtime on a 17-yard run, lifting North Thurston to a 28-27 season-opening, nonleague victory against Auburn Riverside at Auburn Memorial Stadium on Thursday night.

Sam Braboy scored on a 6-yard run in overtime, but the Ravens missed the conversion, allowing the Rams to escape with the win.

Tiano Malietufa threw for one touchdown and ran for another for the Ravens. Malietufa’s scoring pass went 63 yards to Isiah Prescott.

O’Darious Shaw scored on a 3-yard run for the Ravens.

Clayton Christian threw for two TDs and ran for another for the Rams.

The Ravens host Kent-Meridian next Friday. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
