The Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 232 calls for service between Oct. 24 and 30, among which were the following:

Oct. 24

Aid call: 8:02 a.m., (Algona). Firefighters evaluated for stroke a senior citizen who was complaining of weakness in his left hand, and a private ambulance transported him to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center (MAMC).

Oct. 25

Automatic fire alarm: 8:03 a.m., (Auburn). Firefighters dispatched to an automatic fire alarm at a six-story apartment building in south Auburn discovered that one of the residents had turned his or her stove on and left a plastic lid on the stove burner, which activated the alarm. Firefighters used an electric fan to remove remaining smoke from the building.

Oct. 26

Bicycle accident: 4 p.m., (south Auburn). Firefighters treated a bicyclist who was down in the street complaining of minor injuries after she collided with a motor vehicle, and a private ambulance transported her to (MAMC).

Oct. 27

Aid call: 3 p.m., (Pacific). Firefighters treated a young girl who was crossing a street when a vehicle hit her, and a private ambulance transported her in stable condition to Valley Medical Center.

Oct. 28

Aid call: 12:45 p.m., (Lea Hill). Firefighters treated on scene an older gentleman who had fallen but who refused any further care. Firefighters left the patient at home with his caregiver.

Oct. 29

Vehicle fire: 3:30 p.m., (Auburn). Firefighters arrived at a car fire to find fire and smoke coming from the engine compartment of a small SUV, which fire they quickly extinguished. The incident is under investigation.

Oct. 30

Aid call: 12:44 p.m., (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters and King County Medics evaluated and treated on scene a man who was complaining of chest pains, and medics transported him to MAMC.
