Gretchen Tapp finished her first Boston Marathon on Monday, completing the prestigious 26.2-mile race in 4 hours, 56:55 minutes.

The Auburn woman was 23,695th out of more than 26,000 finishers in the race.

Tapp, 55, a University of Washington graduate, is a production engineer at Wizards of the Coast in Renton.

She has been running in races for about seven years, beginning with the Rock & Roll event. She has completed more than 100 half-marathons and 13 full marathons in that time frame.

“Boston was an awesome, inspiring and amazing experience,” said Tapp, who had 10 family members cheering her on.
