Taking different directions on a street

I would like to go on record opposing the claim that 118th Avenue Southeast is a dangerous street.

There are some blind spots. One is at the end of my driveway, and we have no problems as long as we keep the foliage cut back so we can see and look carefully before we enter the street.

Some people drive too fast, but we don’t have enough traffic to justify the massive expense of re-grading the hills. When the police sat on our street with a radar, many of the speeders lived on our street.

If Largo Wales is all for wasting tax dollars in this way, then please think twice before voting for her for mayor because I fear she will waste a lot of tax dollars just to satisfy a small group.

Please note that Mayor Backus does not approve or disapprove requests involving changes to a street. I’m pretty sure the city engineers handle those decisions since they are the experts.

I recently went to a meet and greet to find out more on issues, and thanks to the mayor’s direct answers, I have learned much more about how a city functions. I just joined the Civics Academy, so I can stop blaming the wrong people for actions I don’t like.
