Auburn’s Cookie Hayes recently celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends.

Born to C.B. and Molly Cook in Kent on Oct. 2, 1917, Hayes raised four children on a farm in Renton. She has outlived three siblings – brothers Arthur and Walter, and sister Phyllis – and two husbands, James Scott and Frank Hayes.

Hayes, who lived in Kent throughout most of her life, has seen all four of her children – Joanne (and Gene Erwin, 2005); Ron (and Annette Scott, 2009); Rodger (and Stella Scott, 2015); and Dick (and Judy Scott, 2017) – celebrate their 50th wedding anniversaries.
