Backus is the only choice for Auburn

I have been an employee for the city of Auburn for 22 years and have experienced a number of leadership styles throughout the years, none better than that of Mayor Nancy Backus.

The last four years have been the best four years of my working career. I have seen numerous projects get funded and more officers get hired. I have seen morale of employees significantly improve throughout multiple city departments. The leadership that Mayor Backus has shown to her employees has been inspiring and motivating. Employees enjoy coming to work, and they want to come to work. They want the city to be successful. They want the people that live and work here to feel safe and enjoy the amenities that Auburn offers to them.

Auburn has been my home for 40 years. The town has grown from 26,000 people in 1980 to nearly 75,000 today. The “Little Detroit of the West” is now the 14th largest city in the state and is home to several attractions, businesses and educational opportunities. We are a thriving and improving community.

Mayor Backus has provided opportunities for growth improvement by being a key player in working with other cities, counties and state agencies to ensure that Auburn plays a key role for our future generations.

Mayor Backus has your future in mind. She has the future of our children in mind. She wants all of us to be able to live, work and shop right here at home. If you take the time to talk with her, and have a real conversation – which she is more than willing to do – you will quickly see that she wants the same things for your family that you want for your family.

There is a process and a plan. The plan is for four more years of progress. Four more years of making Auburn better. Four more years of being a city that others look up to as a leader in the area. Help me with the process of ensuring our success by voting for the only choice: Mayor Nancy Backus.
