It’s a paw-ty

Families, kids, pet lovers, community and city leaders came together last Sunday to celebrate the Auburn Valley Humane Society’s fifth birthday at its shelter, 4910 A St. SE.

Below, AVHS Executive Director Phil Morgan talks as Deputy Mayor Bob Baggett listens at the birthday bash. Morgan is one of the many coordinators and volunteers who has helped shape the success of the shelter.

The open house included tours, an Animal Fashion Show, basket raffle drawings, giveaways, paw cookies and cake. The public also shared pictures of their beloved pets with AVHS staff.
